On my nature walk today I came about this twig with fungus wrapped around it. It caught my eye. The pattern on the bottom part of the fungus is interesting with the ribbing effect. Nature can be so much fun!

These two Canadian Geese are having a conversation on the pond ice. It seemed they didn't know what way to go on the ice and were in dispute. They ended up in single file walking across the ice after a few honking noises.

I found this oak leaf in the snow. It is revealing itself from being buried in the snow. Nice brown color contrast from the white snow. The snow is glistening in the sun. Along with a shadow from a close snow pile.

I love the different stages of the moon. I got a glimpse of the full moon with there being no cloud cover. I think the moon is pretty cool because it is a source of light in the darkness. Always nice to walk at night with the moonlight being a guide.

When I see these thistles I think of them getting stuck on clothes or fur on a hike. It is amazing to me how they are designed to stick like velcro on anything that gets close to them. The plant has a self defense mechanism.

I am drawn to any color during the last days of winter. This sumac cluster caught my eye. Just waving in the wind. Against the white snow and the brown trees the red sticks out.

A beautiful fallen tree along the banks of a river. The river is still showing lots of signs of winter. Ice is still cover portions and their are animal tracks across the ice. Still flowing fast though under the ice and making nice rapids.
